The first public art piece of Kindred’s impressive public art collection, a sculptural bench created by One Hat One Hand, was installed at the luxury property’s main entrance. Kindred partnered with award-winning art consulting firm, NINE dot ARTS | Art Consulting and Creative Placemaking to curate an extensive and distinctive public art collection. Every detail of Kindred has been intentionally designed to create a welcoming and bespoke social hub that ignites your passions and sparks new stories at the edge of luxury and adventure.
Sculpted by the team from One Hat One Hand, the bench was inspired by Keystone’s three mountains and the rugged Rocky Mountain contours and was designed to invite visitors to rest and reflect on Keystone’s history, strength and the surrounding natural beauty.
One Hat One Hand is a San Francisco-based multidisciplinary studio of designers, fabricators, and artists who work together to create large-scale public art, architectural placemaking, and immersive installations. Since 2008, their team has collaborated with architects, developers, and cultural institutions to bring creative ideas to life through hands-on craft and thoughtful design.
According to the artists, “this sculpted concrete bench is both a place to rest and a quiet nod to the landscape that surrounds it. Cast to echo the lines of the Keystone mountain range, it brings the shape of the horizon into the everyday experience of the neighborhood. The surface moves from rough to smooth, reflecting the area’s natural textures and its evolving identity. Simple, durable, and grounded in place, the bench offers a subtle connection to the mountains beyond.”
