As a residence owner and Kindred Club member, your mountain home becomes the perfect basecamp for unforgettable summer days. Whether you’re looking for adrenaline, relaxation, or time together, here’s your guide to making the most of the season like a true mountain local.
Start the Morning on the Mountain
Wake up, grab a coffee in the lobby, and walk directly from Kindred to the River Run Gondola. The gondola is operating Friday – Sunday in the summer with the bike park lift running Thursday through Monday this summer. Summer scenic rides offer sweeping views of the Continental Divide and provide access to miles of hiking trails for every ability level, or check out downhill mountain biking with one of Colorado’s best bike parks in the state.
Don’t miss:
- Scenic gondola rides
- Summit House views
- Mountaintop hiking
- Wildflower photography
If Kindred is offering morning yoga, take advantage of those classes happening in the courtyard. Check with the concierge and front desk for details and dates.
Cool off by the Water
Just minutes away – and a courtesy ride from the Kindred team away – Keystone Lake offers a peaceful change of pace with paddle boating, or head further west to Dillon’s Marina to rent a kayak, paddle board, canoe, pontoon boat or sailboat and explore Summit County from the waters of Lake Dillon, a reservoir that spans more than 3,000 acres and stretches from Dillon to Frisco with sweeping mountain vistas. The Summit Historical Society even offers guided boat tours and there’s a new dining cruise that’s available this summer through the marina.
Spend the afternoon:
- Paddleboarding
- Kayaking
- Canoeing
- Fishing nearby mountain streams
- Relaxing along the shoreline
It’s one of the easiest ways to enjoy a slower mountain day with family and friends. Stop by the Tiki Bar located at the Dillon Marina for lunch or happy hour drinks. Don’t forget that Frisco also has a marina with a beach, boat rentals and a shoreline restaurant with a playground nearby.
Tee Off at Keystone’s Championship Golf Courses
Golf in Keystone is unlike anywhere else.
Play one—or both—of Keystone’s award-winning golf courses, where elevated tee boxes, mountain vistas, and cool summer temperatures make every round memorable. The Keystone Ranch and The River Course require tee times. Book ahead or contact the concierge to help secure a spot.
